“Our Fantastic Death by Crayons”是由美国摄影师 Victor Koroma拍摄的照片系列。
Our Fantastic Death by Crayons is a series that juxtaposes a tool that symbolizes death and destruction with a tool that symbolizes creation and youthful imagination. Both tools coexist though they are opposing forces and are a reflection and critique of the gun control issues in American society’s constant gun debate. Especially now with the rise of mass shootings and police violence. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution gives people the right to keep and bear arms.
This series questions that right by asking, which tool helps build or destroy a society? Which tool do we value more? Which arms do we want the hands of our citizens to bear? A tool that sparks destruction or a tool that sparks creation? This question is asked by recontextualizing. It replaces the ammunition fired from a tool that kills with ammunition that creates. And also slowly subverts the ubiquitous image of a gun.
